CaseCrown’s Canvas Flip Case For iPad

by Noel on December 29, 2010

Granted, there isn't much originality with the majority of iPad cases out there.  Regardless,  everyone's got their favorites.  If you prefer your accessory decked in canvas, instead of leather or plastic, the CaseCrown Canvas Flip Case just might be your thing.

A folio-type case, it comes with a flip cover for extra protection.  The inner side of the cover comes with an elastic strap, which you can use to keep the flap closed when the iPad is not in use.  While they make no mention of it, I have a feeling you can hold your iPad safely with one hand using the same strap once you've pulled the cover back, too (or probably not, don't blame me for any accidents).

The Canvas Flip Case is made from a hard-wearing canvas material that CaseCrown claims to be resistant to tears, rips and all types of damages.  Despite the durability, it's not abrasive, so you don't have to worry about the case leaving your iPad with any scratches.  It has a complete set of windows to allow access to all ports and controls for convenient use.  Like many folio cases, it uses the front cover to let you stand up the iPad for tabletop use, both in landscape and portrait modes.

Want one?  It's a good time to buy, as the price has dipped some from the original $34.99.

Want serious protection when carrying your iPad during travel or commute?  The CaseCrown Air Cell Briefcase for iPad might do the trick.

If you already own a similar padded briefcase for 10.1-inch netbooks, you should know that this is the exact same thing.  They're, basically, just rebranding it for use with Apple's 9.7-inch slate.  There's absolutely zero difference - they didn't even remove the battery bay (although, you can probably use that  for holding the charger and other small accessories).

The CaseCrown Air Cell Briefcase for iPad is a slim and lightweight bag, with dual zippers and a two-strap carrying handle.   Over 200 high-quality air cells are prominently stationed on the sides to absorb shock from bumps and jarring movement.

Since it's more of a multi-purpose gadget carrier than a strictly made-for-iPad accessory, you can use it to carry other sensitive stuff when you’re leaving the tablet at home.  Netbooks, smaller gaming consoles and portable DVD players come to mind.

The fact that the CaseCrown Air Cell Briefcase is sized for 10.1-inch netbooks actually brings one accidental advantage: you can slip in your iPad even with a case in tow. To me, this is an excellent upside, especially if you want to keep the tablet in your favorite multi-function case, all while being able to carry it around conveniently.  The bag on sale for around $15.
